Frequently Asked Questions

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our services and the debt collection process.

We have collected the most frequently asked questions and provided answers to them. If you cannot find the answer to your question, please contact us.

During pre-trial debt collection, we contact the debtor by phone, email and post. The intensity of the actions is determined by the size of the debt, the course of communication with the debtor and local law, as well as Atradius Collections’ many years of experience. The best practices accumulated over many years allow us to achieve high efficiency in your debt collection.

In all countries, after registering a case in the Collect@Net system, we start collection within 48 hours of sending the first written demand for payment. We contact the debtor by phone immediately after sending the demand. If we fail to establish contact, we send additional demands and continue to try to contact by phone.

For more information, please visit our website dedicated to pre-trial debt collection

We try to contact the debtor by e-mail, phone, letters, depending on the information available. We make every effort to collect additional data that would help us contact the debtor. In certain cases, we use the services of local representatives who visit the debtor.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with our recommendations that can help improve the efficiency of communication with the debtor.

We know how important time is in the debt collection process. We also accept older invoices for collection, but certain restrictions established by local law may apply, which are final. After the statute of limitations, which varies depending on the country, debt collection through the courts becomes impossible because there is no legal basis. For all debts that are more than 180 days overdue and transferred for collection, an additional 2% fee is applied to the amount collected.

Of course, you can entrust us with any number of cases. They can be registered individually or in groups. It is not necessary to submit all the cases at once - they can be transferred gradually, for example, after the payment deadline.

If pre-trial actions do not yield results, the collection specialist provides an appropriate recommendation for further actions, taking into account the debtor's financial situation, the age of the debt, the estimated costs of the legal proceedings, the available documentation and the predicted result of the legal collection. The duration and cost of the procedure depend on the debtor's country and the amount of the debt. The decision to continue the recovery through the courts is always made by the Client. The costs of legal collection are covered by the Client.

More information about the legal collection process can be found on our special website.

Pre-trial actions take about 90 days on average. This period may vary – be shorter or longer – depending on the intensity and effectiveness of communication with the debtor. If pre-trial collection does not yield results, we provide a recommendation for further action through the courts.

More detailed information about our collection process can be found on a dedicated website.

There is no minimum debt amount that we accept for collection. However, the size of the debt determines the amount of the commission fee that is applied upon successful collection.

If you decide to terminate the collection process during the pre-trial process, without following our recommendation, a termination fee may be applied. However, if the decision not to pursue the collection through the courts is made at the end of the pre-trial stage, no additional fees are applied. Each decision is assessed individually, taking into account the state of the case.

The agreement itself is of a framework nature, so signing it does not incur any costs. The one-time initial fee is applied only when the case is transferred for collection, and its amount depends on the country of the debtor.

This is our online system that allows Atradius Collections clients to monitor the status of the case in real time. Here you can:

• Have access to each case transferred for collection 24/7;

• Get acquainted with the progress of the case;

• Contact the collection specialist responsible for the case directly;

• Generate various reports.

More detailed information is available on our website dedicated to the Collect@Net system. If you are our client, we invite you to join Collect@Net.

For cases in Lithuania, you can contact the recovery specialist responsible for the case directly through the Collect@Net system, and for international cases, you can contact your assigned customer service manager. You can find information about the responsible person in the Help section of the Collect@Net system.

When registering a new case, please provide all available contact details of the debtor. Invoices, signed contracts and information on the balance of the case are required for each case.

The commission fee is applied only to the amount actually recovered. It also applies to accrued interest and recovery costs (according to the law of each country).

Domestic cases: if we recover recovery costs (equivalent to 40 euros) and statutory interest, this amount is transferred to you.

International cases: If we recover collection costs and statutory interest, we retain these amounts in accordance with the fee schedule provided for in the contract.

For debts overdue for more than 180 days, an additional 2% commission fee is applied to the recovered amount in case of successful recovery.

Of course! Our Agora platform allows you to transfer overdue invoices to Atradius Collections in just three easy steps. Once you transfer a case, you will be able to monitor its progress 24/7 in your account, contact the specialist responsible for the case and receive collection price quotes for other cases.
